Josh’s 35 points earned a trophy, some wine, and presumably a year’s worth of post-round bragging rights.
The Stableford Championship at Knebworth was decided with a flourish of points and much muttered arithmetic, as Josh snuck past Jake and Alfie to claim the wine and trophy after a round that put the 'stable' firmly in 'Stableford'.
With the trees watching like suspicious referees and the local wildlife wondering about life choices, Josh assembled an impressive tally of 35 Stableford points. Jake nearly mounted a coup with 34, while Alfie politely held the bronze at 33. Whether via birdies, well-negotiated bogeys or simply keeping the ball out of the duck pond, Josh’s consistent scoring proved decisive. The countback on the last nine, mercifully for those with dodgy memories, kept things neat—crowning Josh the outright winner in a clubhouse finale rumoured to involve at least one raised glass.
