Who we are
Golf Day Results is responsible for the personal information described in this Privacy Policy. For privacy questions, requests or concerns, contact support@golfdayresults.com.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may collect your name, display name, email address, profile photograph, golf handicap, event and round information, scores, competition results, event photographs, course images, support messages and basic technical information about your device and use of the site.
Organisers may add a player’s first name, last name, display name and handicap when setting up an Event Hub. Organisers may also upload event photographs and course images. Organisers should only add or upload information and media they are entitled to use, and should take extra care where a player is under 18.
Public Event Hubs and player profiles
Event Hubs, player profiles, round stories, leaderboards, results, event photographs and course images may be public and may appear in search engines. Public pages are part of the product: they allow players to revisit an event and celebrate the golf that was played.
Do not add information that you or another player would not be comfortable making public. Contact us if a public page needs correcting, restricting or removing.
How we use information
- To create and operate Event Hubs, profiles, scorecards, leaderboards and stories.
- To communicate with organisers and users, provide support and protect the service.
- To improve features, fix problems and understand how Golf Day Results is used.
- To process payments when paid services launch.
We rely on a mixture of contractual necessity, legitimate interests, legal obligations and consent, depending on the activity. Analytics is only activated when you allow it through our cookie controls.
Artificial intelligence
Golf Day Results may use OpenAI services to help create editorial features, course intelligence and round analysis. Information sent for this purpose is limited to what is needed to produce the feature. AI-generated content may occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate, so it should be treated as editorial assistance rather than professional advice.
Services we use
We may share limited information with trusted providers that help operate Golf Day Results, including hosting and email providers, Google Analytics, OpenAI and Stripe. Stripe will process payment information directly when paid products launch; Golf Day Results does not intend to store full payment card details.
Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we expect appropriate contractual and legal safeguards to be used.
How long we keep information
We keep information only for as long as it is needed to provide the service, maintain the golfing record users expect, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect Golf Day Results. Public event history may be retained as part of the lasting archive unless removal is requested and there is no overriding reason to keep it.
Children and junior golfers
Accounts and organiser tools are intended for people aged 13 or over. A junior golfer may appear in an Event Hub where an organiser has appropriate permission. We recommend that organisers use a suitable display name and avoid adding unnecessary personal information for anyone under 18.
Your rights
You may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your information, object to certain uses, withdraw consent and receive a copy of information you provided. Email us to make a request. We may need to confirm your identity before acting.
You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how your information has been handled.
Changes to this notice
We may update this notice as Golf Day Results evolves. The latest version and its update date will always appear on this page.
