Championship
The Championship at Stevenage was clinched by Shanker (Grant), who emerged victorious from a three-way Stableford tie with 34 points after a dramatic countback. Con (James) matched Grant’s tally, with Dave completing the trio, but countback rules made all the difference.

Shanker (Grant) takes the title
Shanker (Grant) claimed the Championship at Stevenage through the ever-exciting countback mechanism, after finishing tied with Con (James) and Dave on 34 Stableford points. The outcome hinged on sorting out the trio post-round, with countback on the last three holes then hole-by-hole separating tres amigos. Gal’s 93 was the lowest gross score (and possibly the noisiest racket). Shanker left with both the title and the right to buy the first celebratory round – and a clear case for carrying a spreadsheet alongside golf balls.
